Destination: Milan

Milan is considered the Italian’s capital of business, finance, technology, fashion and design and it has much to offer in art and culture with its glorious monuments and museums. The city is the second largest one in Italy, as well as financially the most important, and it is home to over 3 million people.

Milan excels at an artistic and cultural level with its spectacular attractions, including:

The Duomo, the city majestic cathedral and the fourth largest Church in the world, a great example of Gothic art;

The Castello Sforzesco, one of the biggest strongholds in Europe and home to several prestigious museums and art collections;

Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper”, the artist’s masterpiece, treasured in Santa Maria delle Grazie.

Milan’s heart is also called “the Fashion District” and the city becomes an essential destination during the Fashion Week, a famous clothing trade show held two times a year.
The food is sensational and probably one of the main points that made Italy famous all over the world. Food in Milan means awarded restaurants, internationally renowned for their innovative contribution in revisiting traditional cuisine dishes.

The first annual IFTA conference was held in Tokyo, Japan, hosted by NTAA, in 1988. Since then, IFTA has continuously held an Annual Conference in different locations throughout the World, usually in the autumn, hosted by the member of that country. SIAT hosted the IFTA 1998 Conference in Rome and is delighted to once again host IFTA 2017 in Italy, this time in Milan.
